In other words, I just bought a new accessory for my Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens.

Canon ES-71 II lens hood

I’ve been searching high and low for this as it is quite limited or should I say, there is no stock in most of the shops I went to/called. After a few searches in Google, a few calls to shops and Canon Customer Service Centre and a few e-mails shooting here and there, I’ve finally managed to get hold of this bloody plastic and boy, it costs more than I expected.

With hood

Boy, it looks big. One thing for sure, I can’t attach this to the lens and put it into my bag. It takes up a lot of space. :P

Anyway, I don’t have the time to test it yet, so I can’t show the results with and without the hood..

  1. You don’t need the hood most of the time unless you are shooting under bright sun light / out door.

I have yet to get one for my 17-85.

  2. Lately, I’ve started to come out of my house to shoot. And most of time, I’ll do the shooting in the morning. Hehe..

You should get it too. With it, you will this professional look.. :P
