At north of Langkawi island, there lies a quiet beach called Tanjung Rhu. It is about 30 minutes drive from Kuah Town (city of Langkawi) and it is also where Tanjung Rhu Resort, one of the famous resorts, located at.
Finding the way to the beach is rather easy as the roads are pretty much straight forward. There are two ways to access to the said beach; one is via the resort and another is for the public.
At the entrance, there are shops selling souvenirs as well as food & beverages. Besides, there are stalls that provide boat rides and tours to limestone islands.
Compare to other beaches in Langkawi, Tanjung Rhu beach is rather laid-back and quiet. There were a handful of them when I was there. I reckoned that majority of them were guests from Tanjung Rhu Resort itself.
As empty as I would like to say, there are beach chairs and umbrellas placed along the left side of the beach for guests’ (of the resort) usage.
Other than that, the beach is beautiful yet clean on its own. The sand is white and soft while the water is so clear and clean. It is really tempting to just drop everything and jump (or more like walking/running) into the clear cooling water.
All in all, although it is quite a distance, it is worth the drive to Tanjung Rhu beach for its beautiful yet calm scenery. To me, it is probably the best place to have a quiet / relaxing moments at the beach.
Aiseh, u just wait. Later I go to the beach in Kuching, then you know mauhahahahahahahahaha
