Lunch At Yogi Tree, The Gardens

Whenever I parked my car at The Gardens, I saw this shop quite a number of times . This shop is situated beside Isetan (practically speaking) on the first floor of The Gardens. Not knowing what they serve, I’ve not try them at all as part of the shop is occupied with clothings.

From the outside, it looks rather cosy-homey feel and the design is similar to a shop in Bangsar Village I. Without having the thought of eating the same ol’ thing in Mid Valley, I’ve decided to give this shop a try. As they say, curiosity kills the cat (I think).  From the menu itself, I can see that they largely emphasize on organic products. From the bread to the poultry, all of them are produced and sourced via organic way.

Flat White

There are quite a number of selections in their menu. Most of them, as they claimed, are as basic as possibly can. Besides, the names of their food are dummy-proof. A couple of flips thru the menu, and I knew what I wanted as most of them suits my taste buds.

Strawberry Smoothie

For drinks, I opted for a Strawberry Smoothie while my mum ordered a normal Flat White. From the presentation point of view, it was alright. The smoothie was pinkish-red colour as it can be. But the taste was rather vague/bland. Perhaps, they went easy on the strawberries (puree/syrup) and added a lil too much of ice instead.

Chicken & Mushroom Pie

My mum didn’t want to have a heavy meal since our breakfast was just 2 hours ago. So, I ordered a Chicken & Mushroom Pie for her. It didn’t look as appetizing when it first arrived. The shape was er… flat and the pastry wasn’t puffy at all. However, having said that, it still contained the basic pastry taste in it.  From the looks of it, anybody would know that the filling would be handful of it only. There were chicken chunks and mushrooms, but the portion of them wasn’t satisfying at all. The only thing that saved them is the taste.

Turkey Ham & Cheese BLT

My (sort of) main course, I picked Turkey Ham and Cheese BLT sandwich. By the way, BLT stands for bacon, lettuce and tomato.

Turkey Ham & Cheese BLT

As you can see from the “up-close” shot, the bread they used was toasted granary. In between, there were layers of turkey ham as well as melted cheese, beef bacons and vegetables. The mixture of the cold veges and hot (or warm) cheese was great. The cheese was gooey like what you normally get on pizza. Sadly, if I could recall correctly, there isn’t any mayonnaise in it.

Hot Chocolate Pudding

This is the dessert they claimed to be famous in their restaurant. It is called The Ultimate Molten Lava Hot Chocolate Pudding. Yes, I know, what a long name, right… And yes, I know, they looked overly powdered. It didn’t disappoint me as it was as good as the one I usually order from the Zen.

Hot Chocolate Pudding

The hot chocolate was warm and rich yet not too sweet. The outer layer cake was soft. The ‘pudding’  goes well with the vanilla ice-cream. However, please do tell them that you want this dessert to be served after all your meals are done. They brought it out went I was still munching my sandwich. They had to put it back and the next thing I know, the ice-cream was melting already. Gah…

Overall, the food was okay so as the ambience. I wouldn’t mind going back there again if that’s if I remember the restaurant. Remembering all the restaurants in The Gardens and Mid Valley is not an easy task, yanno…

Note : Their menu is kinda outdated from their website. There are more in their hardcopy menu.
