When times in need, there are few places I would go to for some good burgers and one of them is The Daily Grind in Bangsar Village 1.
Touted as a place that serves gourmet burgers, they are pretty good at what they are doing. I have been visiting them since 2008 and up till now, they have been rather consistent with their quality.
Whilst I’ve not tried all their burgers in the menu, my favourite one has to be Japanese Yodel (RM35). I like the way they construct the burger with simple ingredients used such as mushrooms and cheese only. But what I like the most is the delicious cheese fondue and sautéed mushrooms that complement really well with the thick burger patty. It has this savoury, comforting taste that makes you keep wanting for more.
The tempura mushrooms are fried to perfection; crisp yet retaining the juiciness. At the sides, there are thick cut fries, which are awesome even when you eat it on its own, and fresh salad. Did I mention they make and bake their own healthy buns?
Besides burgers, they do serve other foods as well. I tried their lasagne (no photo of it, sorry!) once or twice which was quite good. If you don’t fancy any tomato-based sauce, do their Seafood Spaghetti (RM29). Filled with clams, prawns and squids, the spaghetti is cooked in white wine and garlic broth. The sauce is robust, packed with punch with slight spiciness to it.
They have good amount of appetisers too. Despite its name; TDG Dynamite Wings (RM18), somehow, it is somewhat lacking in spicy department. But don’t get me wrong, the wings are good. They fried them nicely; juicy and flavourful inside yet crunchy batter on the outside.
Their secret spicy sauce does not have that signature savoury taste to tie those wings together. That said, do give them a try and tell me what you think.
Price wise, they are slightly higher (just by a small fraction) than the usual fast food outlets like Chilis and TGIF. The ambiance is calm and relaxing with segregated smoking area. They have a good selection of desserts too!
So, do you have any favourite burger joint?

No wonder!!! “Gourmet”!!! That is why so expensive – must taste exquisitely great, I’m sure…since it’s “gourmet”.
I actually tried their burgers via room service delivery (too lazy to drive out.. heheh) and it was quite a disaster. I should have jus went there for the real deal =)
The wings look good. I think I would love it. heheheh
gotta respect the daily grind for enduring for so long and for still being a relatively popular choice at bangsar village! i remember before it opened, when we heard the name ‘daily grind,’ we thought it’d be a coffee joint, heh :D
the seafood spaghetti looks delicious..
The food look good but not cheap though~
suituapui : Haha. It’s definitely taste better than the other famous fast food joints.
SBF : I never really like delivery but yea, you should eat at their restaurant.
Melissa : Yea. Crunch yet delicious.
Sean : I was surprised too. But then again, I guess they are the only one that is specialised in burgers in Bangsar.
Simple Person : Yeap!
Choi Yen : Yeap. Slightly more expensive but on par with Chilis, TGIF and etc.
