With contemporary, hipster-ish cafes sprouting around Klang Valley in rapid pace, it is hard not to miss out this relatively unknown, quiet eatery hidden in suburbs of Ampang. Sharing the same vicinity with art gallery, batik shop and etc, That Latte Place serves rather simple meals coupled with good coffees.
Despite its obscure place, it certainly has garnered its well earned attention due to its unique ambiance and perhaps, its coffee. Not sure about the other days, the kitchen and coffee bar were running at full steam as the place was crowded by 10am. It took awhile for the food and drinks to be served but it didn’t matter to me as the place where I sat was airy… aided by ceiling fan.
House Egg Ben (Eggs Benedict (RM17.90))
While the egg benedicts looked pretty and all, it could have been better if the yolks were runny, oozing upon bursting the sack. The poached eggs, piled on top of mushrooms, ham and sweet, soft bread, on that day was wee bit overcooked to my liking.
Croissant Egg Sandwich (Croissant with Scrambled Eggs (RM8.90))
The eggs that came along with croissant were overdone too. They came close to be called omelette rather than scrambled eggs, which are supposed to be velvety, smooth and creamy. But it was tasty and went well with the flaky French pastry.
Iced Mocha (RM9) and Cappuccino (RM8)
I liked my Iced Mocha which was adequately thick yet packed with caffeine punch but I am not sure about the cappuccino though.
Overall, the meal was neither bad nor good. And again, it could have been better. Perhaps, the kitchen was hectic at that time, I suppose. Nevertheless, it’s a nice place to have a cuppa and meal during weekends and/or off days.

A good place to let Sam to run around but I think this place will be a bit warm when approaching noon…
