Apart from Katong Laksa, mee pok was introduced to me by my sister when I was in Singapore late last year. Since then, it has been my usual breakfast / brunch whenever I’m in Singapore.
Around my area (in Singapore), there are 3 stalls that are famous for its mee pok and one of them is Lau Lim which located along Jalan Tua Kong.
With gracious amount of toppings such as fish cakes, fish balls and minced pork meat, this bowl of goodness costs at SGD$3.50 – for a small portion.
Tossed in pork lard and chili oil, the noodles were springy and slight crunchy. The amount of chili oil in it was adequate to give a slight kick to spice up one’s appetite.
Although it’s a lil farther – distance wise, I wouldn’t mind going back again as this stall wasn’t as packed as the other two (stalls) and the staff was friendly at all times.
