We reached Taipei around noon and this was our last stop in Taiwan. After searching high and low, and since we were going to stay there for 4 days, we decided to stay in a decent hotel which cost around NT$11,300 (for 4 nights). The best thing about this hotel (Rainbow Hotel) is that it is located at the busy streets of Ximending and it is quite near to the MRT station.
We left our bags in the room and off we went to our first visit in Taipei, the National Palace Museum.
The National Palace Museum is an art museum in Taipei City, Republic of China, in northern Taiwan. Honestly, this museum kicks our own national museum arse easily. Heck, this museum lives in a league of its own. The building itself is 5 times (rough estimation) larger than our very own museum and it houses tons of ancient artifacts from pre-history times.
We weren’t allowed to bring cameras into the museum and so, we had to check in our cameras at the counter. There are about 4 floors and each floor has various segments to cater different “department”. We strolled for about 2 hours and it was rather a quick stroll. Hehe.
We left the museum about close to 5pm and headed for Danshui to view the Love Bridge. The journey to the said place was spooky as it was way out of the city centre. It was dark at night (though it was only 6.45pm) when we reached there. There were quite a number of tourists and all were crowding on the bridge.
To me, it looked slightly like Seri Wawasan Bridge in Putrajaya. There were quite a number of wedding photographers at the scene doing some shots. Maybe it is one of the hotspots for wedding photography. Hehe. We hung around for an hour or so before we hunt for our dinner at the ever famous Ximending Night Market, which I didn’t take any photographs at all. :P
