DS Chua Brother Coffee Shop, Tengkat Tong Shin

Located along Tengkat Tong Shin… and a block away from Restoran Kam Fatt, DS Chua Brothers Coffee Shop is my next go-to place for breakfast on weekends. It is a middle-corner lot coffee shop which I frequent to since I was young. In it, there are a handful of wickedly good hawker stalls which serve local delicacies.

Loh Lou Shu Fun

One of my favourite foods from this joint is got to be Loh Lou Shu Fun (RM5.50) from the pork noodles stall. Served piping hot, the eggy broth is adequately thick yet savoury and it is good to go with the the rat-tail noodles. The minced pork has good ratio of fat-to-lean meat while there are slices of pork meat in it. A splash of vinegar and you are good to go.

Pork Noodles

The pork noodles (RM5) is pretty good as well. Despite its slight murky appearance, the broth is packed with porky goodness.

Fishballs

If pork noodles doesn’t suit your taste buds, do try the fishball noodles from another stall. Unlike the generic fake-tasting ones, this is the real deal as they source fresh fishes and make the fishballs daily to ensure quality is met. Firm and in decent size, a bowl of (just) fishballs will set you back around RM7 while a bowl of fishball noodles will probably cost around RM5.

Yong Tau Foo

Apart from those, there’s this old couple handling the pan mee stall. Although I’ve yet to try the noodles, they do sell pretty decent yong tau fu. A bowl as such above costs RM8.

DS Chua Brother Coffee Shop, Tengkat Tong Shin

Overall, this is a place to go to for no-frills breakfast / lunch affair. Although they are not the best of the best, it is good enough for a everyday meal. Getting a parking can be a tough task during peak hours and on weekdays but , do try them if you are around this area.
