2 months back, I was in Taiwan for holidays. Though it was shorter compared to my previous one back in 2008, this trip was enjoyable. Instead of covering the entire island, this trip’s route was between north, east and south with some places were new to me.

So… instead of writing lengthy, multiple posts, I guess I will just put up the itinerary because I am lazy to save some time:

Day 1
– Arrived Taoyuan International Airport.
– Bought prepaid card for connectivity.
– Took a bus to Taoyuan High Speed Rail (HSR) Station and boarded a train to Taichung.
– Arrived at Taichung late at night and checked into a hotel nearby.

Day 2
– Woke up early and checked out of hotel.
– Boarded a bus which brought us directly to Cingjing.
– Reached Cingjing at around 12PM.
– Dropped our luggages at the hotel reception and begun our walkabout at the well known farm.

Day 3
– Woke up early and checked out of hotel.
– Boarded a bus which brought us back to Taichung.
– Dropped our luggages at the hotel reception.
– Food binging ensued.
– Bought the famous pineapple tarts.
– Boarded local buses to Gaomei Wetland.
– Sightseeing till sun set.
– Took a taxi to Fengjia Night Market for another round of food binging and some shopping.

Day 4
– Woke up early and checked out of hotel.
– Took a train to Chiayi.
– Took a bus to up to Alishan.
– Checked in hotel and then started walking around the national park.

Day 5
– Woke up extremely early.
– Boarded a chartered van to bring us for sun rise viewing at Yushan National Park.
– Enjoyed the scenery.
– Boarded a chartered van to bring us to Chiayi HSR station and boarded a train to Kaohsiung.
– Reached Kaohsiung and checked into hotel.
– Food binging and sightseeing for the rest of the day.

Day 6
– Woke up early and checked out of hotel.
– Boarded a MPV to bring us to Kenting.
– Arrived at Kenting late morning.
– Dropped our luggages while waiting for our day tour driver.
– Sightseeing until dusk.
– Seafood dinner at fishing village.
– Food binging at Kenting night street market.

Day 7
– Woke up early and checked out of hotel.
– Boarded a chartered taxi to bring us back to Kaohsiung HSR station.
– Boarded a train to bring us directly to Taipei.
– Reached Taipei around afternoon.
– Checked in hotel and headed back out for sightseeing.

Day 8
– Took MRT to Taipei Main Station.
– Boarded a train to Ruifang.
– Decided to proceed to Shifen since it was raining heavily.
– Decided to proceed to Pingxi because it was pouring in Shifen.
– Walked around and ate lunch before heading back to Ruifang.
– Took a taxi to Jiufen because the rain has stopped.
– Walked along the famous alley while food binging and souvenir shopping.
– Took a taxi back down to Ruifang.
– Took a train back to Taipei.
– Drinks at a bar instead of walking at Xinmending.

Day 9
– Started the day slow because I was having fever.
– Nonetheless, food hunting!
– … and sightseeing, of course.
– Went to Taipei 101.
– Went for hot spring.
– … food hunting continued.

Day 10
– Bought a couple more souvenirs and pineapple tarts along the way.
– Food hunting continued.
– Strolled along Xinmending.
– Back to hotel for the usual inventory management activity a.k.a. packing luggages.

Day 11
– Flight back to Kuala Lumpur via EVA Air.
