Situated in Kelana Jaya, this meat shop-cum-restaurant is one of those no frills eatery joints that dishes out nothing but delicious steaks (and burger). It is the place to go if you want something simple and nice without forking out an arm and a leg for a quality piece of steak. It’s the place / restaurant I heard, read and being recommended to for some wholesome meal.
“What you pick is what you get” as I would like to say about this small restaurant because at the front portion of the shop is where all the best grade cuts (meats) are displayed for customers’ selection. You get to pick the type and weight of the meat you want to devour and just leave it to the staffs to do the cooking (professionally).
Although it was a lil salty, the rich, creamy filling (of the Beef Bruschetta) went really well with the bread. However, having said that, we did find the bread a lil thicker than usual and they were rather cold.
This is probably the best lamb burger I’ve ever tasted so far. The lamb patty wasn’t as dense (to the point of chewy) as I thought it would be and it was packed with flavours. Moreover, what made it so good was the special dressing they used on the burger.
It is probably homemade as it wasn’t the same as those generic ones you normally get from outside. There were no side dishes, coleslaw, fries and etc.
Heck, I wouldn’t care about those side dishes as the burger is so good that you may want to eat the lamb patty with the dressing without all those lettuce, tomatoes and bun. I know I would.
It would be degrading unfair if I would to compare this (Rib eye Angus steak) with the likes of TGIF and Chilis as this tasted way better than ‘em. With sufficient amount of marbling in between, it was nice, tender and juicy while retaining the essential flavour in the meat itself.
It is safe to say that they cooked the way it should be. And, best of all, this piece of steak costs at a fraction compared to those mid to high-end restaurants.
Overall, I love the way they cooked it without adding additional flavours / sauce (read : marinated sauce and bla bla bla). The steak was cooked to perfection while the burger was equally good. The only gripe I have was the unpleasant raw meat smell (I think) that lingers around the shop. If only they have al fresco dining style, that would be great! Price wise, I find it quite affordable for what they serve. Now that I know the existence of this place, all thanks to my friend’s recommendation, I would probably think twice again of having steak at other food joints.
